3. Trinidad and Tobago just elected and swore in its first black women president- President Paula Mae.

Trinidad and Tobago is out here making history! The Caribbean nation elected Paula Mae Weekes as there new president in January, making her the first black woman to hold the position.

4. Costa Rica Has Elected the First Black Woman Vice President in All of Latin America.

Epsy Campbell Barr—a left-leaning feminist economist, author, and cofounder of Costa Rica’s power-to-the-people Citizen’s Action Party—has become the first-ever black woman vice president in the Americas, and Costa Rica’s first Afro-Latina VP.

5: Guinea- Bissau ‘Bijago’, is a matriarchal tribe where women rule and men’s job is to look good and be attractive.

On the island of Orango Grande, in the Bijagos Archipelago, off the bank of Guinea Bissau, there is a matriarchal society where ladies have all the power, where they sort out themselves into affiliations which deal with the economy, social welfare, and the law.

6. Winnie (Mother Of Our Nation) Madikizela-Mandela passes away.

Thousands of people have gone to a memorial service in South Africa to honor the life of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. The anti-apartheid campaigner and ex-wife of Nelson Mandela, South Africa's first black president, died on 2 April.
